Wanderers’ Outpost Press Kit

Run the outpost behind the adventure.

Overview

Wanderers’ Outpost is a fantasy colony sim where you run the settlement that exists because of adventurers.

They show up looking for supplies, equipment, a bed for the night, and maybe someone willing to join their party. You build the businesses that keep them going, then send them into procedurally generated dungeons and hope they come back with enough loot to keep everyone employed.

You don’t control the adventurers. You build the town that supports them.

The game is currently in Early Access and is being actively developed by one person.

Key Features

Build a Frontier Outpost

Construct inns, kitchens, blacksmiths, workshops, warehouses, farms, research stations, defenses, and whatever else the town needs to stay running.

An Economy Built Around Adventurers

Craft gear, produce supplies, rent rooms, sell food, collect taxes, buy loot, and keep money moving through the settlement.

Adventurers Have Their Own Lives

They choose expeditions, spend their earnings, recover from injuries, and occasionally make decisions you’ll question.

The Dungeon Keeps Changing

As your settlement grows, stronger adventurers arrive, deeper dungeons appear, and the problems get bigger.

Colony Simulation

Workers, visitors, merchants, guards, weather, seasons, production chains, shortages, and far too many things happening at once.

Game Information

Genre: Colony Simulation / Management

Platform: PC (Steam)

Status: Early Access

Developer: Wind Arthouse

Players: Single-player

About the Game

I like colony sims.

I also like Anime and RPGs where adventurers disappear into dungeons.

Eventually I wondered why nobody was making the game about the people selling them food, repairing their swords, renting them a room, and quietly taking a cut of whatever treasure they dragged home.

So that’s what this is.

The goal isn’t to control heroes. It’s to build the settlement that makes those adventures possible. If the economy is working, adventurers keep leaving, keep coming back, and the whole town grows because of it.

Hopefully.

About the Developer

Wind Arthouse is just me.

I’ve been building software professionally for years, and Wanderers’ Outpost is the kind of game I’ve interested in to make for a long time. It’s part colony sim, part management game, and mostly an excuse to build far more simulation systems than was probably sensible for a solo project.

It’s still growing, and there’s plenty more planned during Early Access.

Quick Quotes

“Run the outpost behind the adventure.”

“Sell the shovel. Tax the loot.”

“Some adventurers become legends. Others become expensive paperwork.”

“You’re not saving the world. You’re keeping the inn stocked.”

Why This Game Exists

I grew up enjoying RPGs, but what stuck with me wasn’t always the heroes.

It was the worlds around them.

Series like Frieren, Dungeon Meshi, and Benriya Saitou-san, Isekai ni Iku spend as much time on the people living alongside adventurers as they do on the adventures themselves. Inns stay open because someone needs a room. Blacksmiths stay busy because swords break. Merchants make a living because someone keeps bringing monster parts home.

I wanted to play the game that happens there.

Instead of leading the party into the dungeon, you build the settlement that makes those expeditions possible. You craft the gear, prepare the supplies, feed exhausted adventurers, tax the loot they bring back, and watch the town grow alongside their stories.

The dungeon is still important.

You’re just looking at it from the other side.
